Bellwether Media have been commissioned by the BBC to film a three part series about the Tweed Industry and Anna is very pleased she has been asked to take part.
Bellwether Media said the following about the series: Bellwether Media are at the very early stages of producing a 3 part series for the BBC about Scottish tweed. It will be shot in an observational documentary style and we’re working towards it being broadcast on the BBC in September 2009.
Our intention is to follow a number of stories that each reveal a different aspect of the tweed industry, the appeal of this marvellous fabric and what it can tell us about the people and country that produces it. From the technical problems besetting the Harris Tweed industry to the secrets of the weavers’ craft and from the use of tweed by the fashion industry to the enthusiasts that just can’t get enough of it, the series will be a fascinating, up-beat and ultimately reverential look at this extraordinary cloth. As the filming goes on we will keep you posted with the story.
